Flemming Quaade Prize for Outstanding Obesity Research
The Flemming Quaade Prize recognises a mid-career researcher who has made an outstanding contribution to obesity research in Denmark.

Rewarding and inspiring research excellence
The Flemming Quaade Prize for Outstanding Obesity Research is awarded annually by the Danish Association for the Study of Obesity (DASO) and the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
It is awarded to an established, mid-career research leader who has made an outstanding contribution to research within one or several of the following areas: epidemiology, etiology, pathophysiology, consequences, prevention, or management of obesity in Denmark.
The contributions of the Prize recipient must be internationally acknowledged and published in international peer-reviewed journals.
The Prize is accompanied by DKK 1 million, of which DKK 900,000 is a research grant and the rest a personal award. All DASO members can nominate candidates. The final recipient is selected by an international, independent committee.
The two organisations also jointly award the Novo Nordisk Foundation Early Career Obesity Research Award. The recipient is a talented researcher at the beginning of their academic career, and the Award is accompanied by DKK 500,000 for new research activities within a two-year period.
The Prize and Award were established in 2025 with the aim to reward and inspire excellent researchers within obesity science and thereby to strengthen the focus on obesity research in Denmark.
